The tagger has unfortunately died. I’ve not had the time to troubleshoot but its got something to do with registered users and guest users.

As such, I’ve taken it down until we can find a suitable replacement.

However, if you know of a tagboard script that fulfills the following requirements:

• Ajaxified
• Wordpress sidebard widget-compatible
• Spam protection (we got on average about 100 - 200 spam notices a day)
• Doesn’t load down MYSQL databases
• Do get in touch with me ASAP.

Our latest member to the FKL team of DJs, oddicon, graces us with a mindf*ck thats gonna send you kamikaze into a strange and progressive journey of goa and psytrance.

A rocker at heart, oddicon joins the ranks of other prolific psytrance musicians who’s origins came from heavy metal and hard rock. For example, ex-guitarist from Megadeth - Marty Friedman, who works with Takeomi Matsuura in Zeta.

Hardstyle Renaissance, mixed by one of our global hardstyle ambassadors, Damien K, has faithfully represented the scene with a thick selection of thumping tracks and consistant mixing style.

This mix is no different with a fresh selection for 2007 ready to blow down the new year (with a HUGEMUTHERF*CKIN wrecking ball)

I caught up with Damien earlier today to discuss HR004:

CR: whats the background of the mix?

Damien.K: hmm background, let me see… i wanted to create mixes that represent my style and the way i DJ in clubs, and since i love hardstyle the most, i decided to create a mix series titled hardstyle renaissance.

it encapsulates me as a DJ and represents what i want the world to hear.

the first hardstyle renaissance mix - 001, came about as a demo cd i mixed for the Bass Station DJ comp, and that mix got me into the finals. i didnt win tho. but i thought the mix was good enough to me given out to ppl and so 002,003 and now 004 followed

CR: whats the big plan for Hardstyle for you?

Damien.K: my plan is to change ppls perspective on hardstyle. to educate them that hardstyle is NOT feng tau. mostly a asian mentality

CR: yeah - whats the difference between the australian mentality and the malaysian mentality?

Damien.K: big dif, here ppl call genres what they really are. But in KL, im speakin in general, anything electronic related [harder styles in particular] are labelled as ‘techno’ or if they dont know what to call it, its called ‘feng tau’

I really wish I had a fengtau mix to put up though, any takers?

DJ Van, one of few, truly underground superstar DJ’s in Kuala Lumpur has graced us with a mix following an incredible session at Bongo! a few weeks ago.

Perception_02 is a sly mix of deep resonating basslines, clever glitchiness, mixed up with a few feel-good floor fillers. The quick blends and well-thought-out emotional highs and lows make for an awesome mix for casual listening as well as having enough beef for the trainspotters.

Storming the Reactive nights in Geelong, Australia hails ressie Dynasty; putting forward a progressive journey from UK techno through German Techno, UK Hard Techno and topping it off with a razor’s-edge of Schranz aggression.

Schmerz: the idea for the project with myself and Dynasty was to do
our own rendition of a hardstyle track with the same sample. We
basically started workin on one version together, then split off with
what we had done (prob 2 mins of the track) and worked with that and
changed that and took it off in our own direction

ChinaRED: have you played the track out?
Schmerz: not yet, i havnt had the chance, chris has played his version
out but mine wasnt completed for that night so i couldnt play it. im
fukin dying to play it out tho

ChinaRED : any feedback so far?

Schmerz: everyone who has heard it loves it and i have a dutch record label interested from what a friend tells me.
