An experimental non-profit collective connected by music and driven by raw passion. This weblog promotes musicians through Internet optimization and digital manipulation and offer their music to you as FREE downloadable DJ mixes and Singles from the Planet's best bedroom DJs and Producers.
One of the things that I love about the FKL community is how un-rockstar we are. A pretty odd group of global undergrounders living regular lives with a passion to crank good mixes out.
One such underground hero, Sirius Break, has recently become a father! Check out those cheeks (Trenton’s, not Adam’s) I want to vomit Sanrio all over the blog.
F*Cking CUTE!
And to celebrate the NEW generation of serial music monsters, Sirius has given us a delicious mix of his zengressive breaks. (zengressive?). There’s Gus Gus, Radiohead, and a Luke Chable remix stacked up for a clear-headed midweek.
Foundationkl.org presents:

‘u r being recorded’, a fantatstic site featuring plenty of live sound recordings recently plugged out something that caught my attention.
According to URBR, Phil Smart (a minidisc recorder owner!) recorded ambience at the Burning Man festival. Subsequently, with his partner Davey B, they produced some meditative pieces made up of layered sounds from the festival!
An Owl, a 2nd generation event organizer with the Loops Collective DnB team, recently claimed several massive nights at 2 prominent locations within Kuala Lumpur.
Working closely with Loops Collective founder, DJ Low, the team along with the local junglist-troopers are slowly but surely infecting the post-shuffler generation with a less ridiculous alternative.
This Monday starts off with some hushed liquid grooves from funk pugilists Concord Dawn and Blame, but taking it to a high-tower energies with the likes of Robot Death Squad and Spor. A dichromatic mix filled with staccato cuts and a bombshell tracklist. A fun and progressive journey that Molotovs you from lighthearted to despotic.

The FKL Crew would like to extend our most heartfelt congratulations to the Bongo! team who have, just yesterday, celebrated their 1st anniversary fighting crimes against music and bringing bass to babies on our fair, but troubled planet.
We would like to acknowledge that the Bongo! team have been awesome in supporting our humble site as well as providing us some awesome live content recorded from their awesome gigs.
The party’s meager beginnings as a private party has expanded tremendously this year having included playing at 2 prominent after-hour’s locations, shipping down the Thai drum-and-bassers, as well as participating in the Carnival festival in Meleka.
Having upheld a multi-genre approach to their events, the Bongo! team have supported local undergrounders from across the local gamut of talent as well as maintaining a following in their core sound - Drum and Bass.
We were there at their party last night, and as you can see, they rocked it proper.
So in true Bongo! fierceness, the Works took over and rocked the room into the floor, without a pause in breath. Everyone left happy and satisfied knowing that not even a diva producer could quell the bloodthirsty passion for music like the Bongo! dudes did.

Clarifying points:
1. Did the datacenter really burn down? Losing over 2TBs worth of information?
No. Whoever fell for that - raise your hand. (I have the MSN chat logs )
2. Are all the files okay?
Yes. All of them are fine, we just wanted to play a joke on you guys.
3. What the fuck?
I know right, we’re evil like that. Anyway - the datacenter DID go down, as many of you might have noticed about 12 hours ago. It was linked to the LAX incident, but as far as we know, everything is clear.
4. Oh, that means the site is back to normal?
Not quite. I’m going up to Bangkok to look for more talent for the site, Radzy’s is in Koh Pang Ngan for the 0.5 Moon Festival, and thesuperglo is preparing to get married.
So we’re taking a week off. See you when we get back!
Unidentified Sub-breaks from a Distorted Intellectual
No, really.
For all you generalists out there, I promise you, IDM was the only smothering label I could come up with to describe this excellent mix. No. 4 has truly delivered the goods.
Featuring a motley list of seemingly contradicting elements. From the bonsai-melodies of Sia, the haunting vacuum of Sigur Ros, and even a crafty remix from Coil and Danny Hyde.
Intelligent - thats all I really know how to describe it:

A bit about the artist: Kenneth Lui, aka the superglo, defiantly represents an outlying sound amongst the commercial dirge of manufactured Malaysian music. Growing up on Penang Island, off the west coast of Malaysia, Kenneth gained initial exposure through his residencies at several underground clubs. Playing for the grungy and the glamorous, his sound began its development through adopting elements from the solid sounds of psytrance and hard house blended with the relentless intensity of Chinese-influenced hardcore, or fengtau.
Ed: Just like to mention that I left out a new membership. A warm welcome to:

Speaking of drum and bass…
Sundrops from the Summer Empire
Pascal Dupuy aka DJ Moet, representing a diverse range of deep sounds, hails from Florda’s underground dance movement armed with confident deck technique and a massive personality. The ONLY DJ so far on FKL who has had the guts to belt down a microphone, and do it well; RESPECT.
Featuring the gliding sounds of Calibre, Junior Cartel, and featuring a touch of jumps and heavy stepping with AK 1200 in the later mix. A tight blend of what can be decribed as soulfully calculated liquid drum and bass (like Marcus Intalex with a touch of Frankie Knuckles‘ dancefloor spirtuality!) this is one mix we are VERY happy to host.

I’d like to welcome our new members to the program:
Pascal Dupuy
A spiritual vinyl-ninja from Orlando, Florida representing an eclectic range of music - predominantly DnB.
Victor G
Award winning DJ and part of the Obsession team of event organizers and deck-jammers.
Romel Johan
Techno-proponent and soon to be big-time planet touring jock.
FKL not open to new members until next cycle
The queue to enter the FKL program is currently full. We are currently in talks with 2 additional DJs. Assuming that they’ll be entering the program - doors will be shut until the next entry cycle.
However, members of the program can still act as ambassadors and represent them on their respective web-spaces. We’ll also be increasing the number of feature mixes. Definitely something to look forward to. So although we’re not offering any more web-space — we’ll still be looking for new talent!
Why are we suddenly closing entries?
Part of the program involves individual attention from Radzy, thesuperglo, and myself. Having too many members makes it too difficult to consult or to do targeted optimization.
Questions for THE BIG SUNDAY INTERVIEW
Stay tuned for SUNDAYS interview with the FKL team. If you have any questions you’d like to ask - leave us a comment and we’ll try to answer it as best as we can when we make the post. We are gonna try and answer all the questions that we’ve been asked so far about the program and what we do here.
See ya tomorrow!
ed: Sorry - my mistake - DjK is abassadored via our mamboj.foundationkl.org account.
