[FKL] Pascal Dupuy - Sundrops: Funk La Sapien

Vinyl Envy

funke.jpg

I love starting the Monday’s with a nice positive mix from the sunshine empire’s embassador, Pascal Dupuy.

This pleasant spread proclaims a breaks / house sound comprised of some of the most tasty vinyl pieces from the American continent. I mean, where are you ever going to find “Activate” by the Goodfellas? or “Temptations” - C-Vaughn & J-Virtue? And where are you gonna find such a natural flow like Pascal’s?

But it seriously begs to ask, if the Vol. 6 & 7 mixes are so solid - where’s Vols. 1 - 5?

Pascal? Care to take the question?

Foundationkl.org presents:

    Friends and Family,

As most of you know http://www.foundationkl.org is the crew that’s really challenged me to go to the next level and get serious about spreading my message and music.

So I’ve been spinning for 9 years now and making tracks (or trying my best) for the last 5.
I’ve often struggled over why music is important to me and why I spend so much of my precious
free time seeking, listening, sampling, reshaping, remixing, reediting, refreshing, music…

The answer is always inevitably for the L O V E….
Yes I, like many, have fallen into the fantasy of being a superstar jet setting DJ…
which I’m not. I’ve been lucky enough to be blessed with a family that loves
people, culture, great food, and AMAZING MUSIC, and I’ve honed the ability
to translate that in my track selection, creation and presentation.

I have much gratitude to express and appreciation to give for those that have inspired
me to bring this to the next level:

My beautiful wife Heather (aka Skila, the vocalist on my original tracks)
My parents, (who always wondered where this path would lead, no worries I’m still alive!)
John Stuart and the 360five crew http://www.360five.com
Chairman John Kuan, Radzy and the Superglo at http://www.foundationkl.org
and the Tru Cru (BPC and others), you know who you are… and to name a few specific in no particular:
    Wendy G.
    GGY and RW
    TC Cover
    Erika the Queen Bee
    Chris, The Bend Gnome
    KB and Drain
    KP Lazarus
    E-Dub
    AP Broooown
    Siege
    Jodee and Super Katie
    Ziti (foundational friendship for sure!)
    Vidda and Starry Eyes

Thank you all for your love support and encouragement! PLUR!

    The Dose:
I was jammin to iTunes as I do every day and this set came on. I slowly started bobbing my head, next mix came in and I was zipping through short cut keys like I’d been digitized. “Let the music play” remix came in and I jumped up and started grooving around the office. I didn’t really realize it until the designer next to me took off his headphones and was like “what are you going through”, I was like, “not sure, let me check”… Low and behold it was yet another dose of Moet-Funk.

    Hey Pas,
You’re the best… does not compare to my simplistic dj’ing on saturday evenings at the house. We’re so proud of you - you beat the ol’man and that is EVOLUTION!
    Congrats.
