[FKL] Wake up call… From the mouths of babes!

Please take 5 minutes to watch this video. This girl silenced the world at the UN!

Sometimes it takes the unjaded to point out the very things that are calling for healing on this planet. I received this in an email yesterday and was so moved by the message, I felt it was important to share with everyone. FKL Members and guests, take a moment after you’ve watched this clip above and ask yourself what you can do to take action on behalf of our planet.

[FKL] thesuperglo - Dark Shadows Of USJ

Much apologies for the lack of updates. For those who aren’t quite over their post ‘Strange Logic‘ buzz, here’s a little something from the depths of psy.

Where there is much light, the shadow is deep

FKL appendage, thesuperglo, presents an almost shamanistic incantation that starts huge and energetic before craftily progressing into the more mystifying planes of psy. A deep, penetrating set, that paints a kind of broodingly peaceful (oxymoron?) atmosphere that is sure to gratify your neuroses.

thesuperglo has created a beautiful amalgamation that features some of psytrance’s more esoteric names, like Encephalopaticys, Paranoize and Atriohm alongside the more familiar names of Tryambaka and Fungus Funk.

Simply brilliant!

Oh, and for those wondering where or what USJ is, here’s something that might be of interest.

[FKL] Dynasty “It’s Freestyle… Vol. 2″

I’ve been listening to this all week and it has me pumped for the weekend!

“Strap on your heaphones and get ready…”

 [FKL] Dynasty

Dynasty has presented us with a sick set of techno, trance and breaks that will drive you to dance! When I first heard this set, it was at work where I’m supposed to be subdued and professional…

Yeah right! By 10 minutes in I’d lost all interest in anything else but embarking on the sonic journey and fully engaging in the soundscapes that were wizzing by. We’re talking bullet train through the subterranean la-la land of electro-crisp vibes here…

This high-energy flow includes the likes of David Forbes, Kidd Kaos, Kamui, Dave Schiemann, and Simon Patterson… Our Aussie ambassador even gives us a taste of his own production, in collaboration with Mr. X and it is choice!!!

Dynasty, on the personal, mad props on “Don’t Waste the Bass”… Took me back to my early years of, dare I say it, warehouse raving, and balanced it with style-de-moment bass lines ala French Electro-house, and even some German minimal-tech drum sequencing at the end.

The Epic Tribe Presents: STRANGE LOGIC

“Hear the drums they come from the sea, Bring the tribal spirit on me…”

Soulfly - Tribe

The Epic Tribe Presents: STRANGE LOGIC

On New Year’s Eve 2007 / 2008, The Epic Tribe threw, what was possibly, the coolest ultra-underground Goa/Psy party in the country. Following up on the immensely successful event (which I foolishly did not attend), the FKL Trimurti of Radzy, Ken and JK, who are also the founding fathers of The Epic Tribe, return with an event that promises to scramble your brains and re-route your sensory circuits.

Saturday, 24.05.08, 9pm onwards at Palate Palette, KL.

Here’s the lowdown:-

Produced by The Epic Tribe, Malaysia’s foremost psychedelic dance community, and Palate Palette, KL’s premier art-loft and culture bar; STRANGE LOGIC promises to be a wild ride into deepest space propelled by unity, respect, and a passion for musical awakening.

And if that’s not enough to get you there, the first 50 people to arrive will receive a never before released mix CD from the Epic Tribe.

Also featuring a revolutionary never-seen-before ‘hookah’ demonstration presented by hookah-evangelist, Mike Williams from Hobohookah.com PLUS Palate Pallete’s very own fire dancers to ignite your night.

If you want answers to life’s most puzzling questions, if you want to unleash your inner connection with the planet, or if you just want to be part of an unforgettable party, STRANGE LOGIC will point you to space, and send you blasting towards the stars.

What’s also awesome is that the FKL trinity will be the featured acts of the night!

  • 09:00pm - 11:00pm - Proxy Metatron [JK]
  • 11:00pm - 01:00am - thesuperglo [Ken… duh!]
  • 01:00pm - Onwards - Yzdar [that’s Radzy backwards if you didn’t know.]

Here’s how you get there. This one is NOT TO BE MISSED. I know I’m not gonna make the same mistake twice! You can be sure we’ll be recording the mixes as well as down, front and center baring our souls. I don’t know about you, but I’m all hot and sweaty from the excitement.

See you at the party!

[FKL] EJ - Thumbsukka

More Than Finger Licking Good

Good god! I have no idea how I am to express this blisteringly brilliant mix in words. Ever heard the saying Less Is More? Well if there’s a mixset that embodies that phrase, EJ’s latest minimal-tech offering would probably be it!

A clean cut, well polished, spirit elevating, bone rattling effort featuring some of my personal faves, like Nathan Fake, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Format B and *gasp* Alex Under!!

Thumbsukka does anything but suck.

It’s almost surreal how our mistress seems to bind each track with intelligent threads of cohesiveness that flings the listener out into the cosmos before driving them back to earth with basslines the size of houses. I guarantee this will bring out the screaming little groupie in you!

All I can say is, “Do You Remember Your First Time?”

[FKL] Nick Tolentino - From The Soul

El Niño Heats up the Great White North

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Nick Tolentino, aka Plusgroove, gets us ready for the weekend with a warm and sultry blend of deep house, laden with sexy vocals and intelligent messages that linger amidst wisps of soulful beats.

Eddie Matos lays down spoken word that uplifts like a sermon over some minimal tech house beats, while Dos Almas leads us to a deeper, tropical rhythm. Then we follow the jet stream through a jazzy, neo-soul, downtempo, and deeeeep house romp with the likes of The Deep & Fred Melosax, Zed Bias, Basement Boys and Erro.

Pop open a bottle of wine, invite over a few friends, and crank up this set of feel good vibes…
