Cooking Up A Storm

The Epic Tribe threw yet another massively successful event on the 2nd of August with Psydtracked. And while we don’t have any recordings from that night, the Tribe are gonna give you psy-heads one better. ANOTHER night of psytrance mayhem has been planned and slotted for the 30th of August. That’s right! The dudes are throwing their own Merdeka party -  ‘Dark Moon Rising‘. We will be making an announcement about the event with all the details very soon, so check back with us.

It’s well known that Music is a powerful element. Some would describe her as a mistress that whispers seducing strains of inspirational melody into our minds at night. Others might describe Music as a drug that takes over the senses, driving the body and mind to new levels of ecstatic union with the soul, bringing us closer to the Divine.

Clinical Research, and the empirical observations of the local club scene, suggests that our brains respond to music as if it were medicine. Musicians, Therapists, DJs and Producers have observed the healing power of sound for managing pain, improving mood, releasing anxiety, and easing depression.

Winter Music Conference is upon us here in the United States, and your friendly, neighborhood Vinyl Slinger is heading down to South Beach to get his annual dose of awe-inspiring feel good…

Oooooh yes! I will be gathering as much images, and video if I can get the Super 8 working, as I can to share with the FKL family upon my return so that we can all sooth our need for those feel-good beats from some of the best in the world! Like DJ Craze!

Sick and tired of the current music scene, a small group of local DJ’s have decided to get together and form their own label to promote the music they love best. Resistiv3, specializes in hard/dark drum & bass, dubstep, downtempo and underground hip hop, by both local and international. But if you’re expecting a dnb remix of Beyonce’s songs and the likes of it at any of their gig, forget it. They want to leave all the ‘commercial stuff’ to other labels. Resistiv3 aims to stick to promoting underground sounds to the urbanites.

At their shows, expect sounds from international label like 315, Ascensions Recordings, Freak Recordings, Black Hoe Recordings, and Lifted Music. On the local side, there are Spacebar, FLOAT, Foundation KL Crew, The Rebel Scum, The Works, Nujita and many more.

Simply put, if you want to see a different side of music, keep on lookout for what resistiv3 has to offer.
