[FKL] Shutter Effect… Greg Wilkinson on FoundationKL

Dirty, Funking, Electro - Tribal…

Heads up Foundation KLers, it is my pleasure to present Greg Wilkinson.
Co-founder of online radio station Static Progress, Greg has thirteen years experience in the underground scene, and has a real passion for electronic music. Between 1995 and 2001 Greg graced the decks in Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as London, playing everything from the 60s, 70’s and modern commercial club hits to trance. Moving to San Diego, California in 2001, Greg became exposed to the various forms of house, breaks and drum n’ bass.

With this revelation he reinvented himself, and nowadays his sets have moved on to electro house with a deep, hard and moody progressive edge. Currently he can be found spinning in some of San Diego’s top clubs like On Broadway and Crudo’s.
“Programming is what sets DJ’s apart from each other, I do not want to sound like the other progressive DJ’s by playing the same tracks,” says Greg.

Shutter effect cover art

Shutter Effect is an exclusive set provided for FKL! With a roster of the likes of Amesz & Gelderblom, Fedde la Grand, Micky Slim, and Elroy & Tom Piper feat. Gabriella Abela on his set, Greg certainly expresses his individual taste and view on bringing the groove… Enjoy!

[FKL] Pascal Dupuy - Sundrops Vol 11: Groundbreaking

Ok, here we go. My very first post!

Ripping the asphalt from beneath your feet

DJ Moet - Sundrops Vol 11: Groundbreaking (resize)

FKL Ambassador, Pascal Dupuy a.k.a DJ Moet a.k.a Big Daddy Blue Dragon has got quite a treat for us this week. Not one but TWO reinvigorating, sharp as obsidian razorblades mixes, that’s not only the perfect way to start the week with, it’s also happens to be superbly awesome!

Hour 1 sucks you in with the almost hypnotic combo of the Chem Bros and Regurgitator before 30hz and Yolanda rips your face off with the woofer abusing Daddido. Our mixologist then continues his brilliant cuts in and out of some truly anthemic tunes, with the likes of Drumattic Twins and Far Too Loud amongst others.

Then we got Hour 2. I really don’t want to give away too much. All I can say is, be prepared for the fluid rich aural orgasms from the likes of Steve Lawler, Paradox 3000, Deekline and many more.

A perfect blend of beats, bass and booyah!

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is, it’s fucking awesome shit and you should so download the mixes and play them at maximum volume and blow some ear drums.

Bohemian and So Chillin’ - John Stuart

In honor of the journey to Winter Music Conference (WMC), I would like to introduce my fellow co-founder of the annual WMC Event Bohemia, my frequent Partner-in-Shine, collaborator and co-promoter:

John Stuart - DJ, Producer, Label Owner, Spirtual Being

John Stuart Bohemia WMC
With a spirited devotion to his audience, over the years, John has revealed a great range of skills on the decks.

House music set the mark for his evolving style and has become his conduit to touch the masses. From his roots in old school skating rink jams, R&B, soul and early house, John has always had a natural affinity with the feel of the dance floor. His dynamic style appeals to globally diverse audiences at a core level and beckons the masses to partake with him on a journey. To be in John’s presence is to experience his very special brand of mind-expanding, body-grooving and soul-southing house, which he uses as a medium to invoke the spirit of passion and love. Beautifully spontaneous, he connects with his audience’s energy through his masterful use of powerful sound.

“When I get on the decks, my sole mission is to captivate the audience in every which way I can. It’s all about engaging the crowd. Anyone can play music, but it takes something deeper, at a soul-level, to move the crowd toward that divine connection.” -John Stuart

For the latter part of 2007, EJ’s sound pushed itself through realms of euphoric progressions into driving new-tribalism.
