Homeboy fabricates an intelligent magnum opus that blends crisp, finely-tailored drumbeats with abyssal basslines that seem to emanate straight from the bowels of the earth. And just when you think you’ve figured this set out, something crazy, like a jazz interlude (!!!!), jerks the judgmental prick out of you.
Good god! I have no idea how I am to express this blisteringly brilliant mix in words. Ever heard the saying ‘Less Is More‘? Well if there’s a mixset that embodies that phrase, EJ’s latest minimal-tech offering would probably be it!
It’s almost surreal how our mistress seems to bind each track with intelligent threads of cohesiveness that flings the listener out into the cosmos before driving them back to earth with basslines the size of houses. I guarantee this will bring out the screaming little groupie in you!

While Dj Rasul might be a fresh face here on FKL, he is by no means a newbie to the world of Dance music and Dj-ing. A student of Jeremy K, Rasul got his first break at Lavish, playing hard-trance. Since then, the boy has been stamping his mark all over Melbourne with gigs at venues like Madisons, Equinox and Gravity Bar. His current residency is at Seven, where patrons are treated to a weekly dose of electro and minimal tech.
His first mix here on FKL is definitely an engaging one. An ethereal blend of trance, electro and minimal with a very progressive sensibility, featuring the likes of Luke Chable, Deadmau5, Hiroyuki Oda and Andrea Doria.

This guy’s a peace-driven mediator of tension and leading contributor to the FKL’s FREE BURMA initiative. We’ve had some pretty serious discussions about peace and compassion, so when MONK’S STARTED GETTING ATTACKED in Burma, No.4 was one of the 1st people to chime up.
No.4’s latest tech/house mix features some killer blends between Depeche Mode, Phil Kieran, and Slim Yellow. A precision sound filled with subtle stabs and lush filtering — backing a great progressive-mentality.
Ben Katana and Bryan Burger, two of the finest 1st generation Kuala Lumpur DJ’s have both left a serious dent on the psyche’s of Malaysia’s dance music generation.
Both DJ’s have held court at the legendary club, Movement, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur - playing screamingly hard techno to bleary-eyed punters clinging to the walls only to get pounded flat into the concrete. And it’s pretty safe to say that these two, have pretty much kept it real: right up till now.
Ben Katana - one of the earliest proponents of electro-clash in Malaysia, played Tiga’s ‘I Wear My Sunglasses at Night’ to a virgin crowd during Regenerate 02 back in the early ’00s, ushering a new age of electro-house and trashy dressing to an otherwise techno-bred scene.
Bryan Burger, headmaster of the Royale DJ Academy, and boss of Excessive Records, introduced German-influenced techno and minimalism to the melting pot. Now, with the Hawtin-esque Ray Soo, continue to inform the scene with their flagship nights, Hotel Scandalos.

Farzan Badie, a very rare Iranian electro-minimalist studying in Malaysia, was discovered by Radzy a few months ago and we’ve since managed to get a mix especially for your electrocoolische pleasure.
His mix, Midi Shower,features next generation minimal-house masters such as sascha funke, daso, as well as an incredible remix from queen of the beep, ellen allien and the esteemed apparat.
Midi Shower’s folding sounds and precise composition inspires introspection with a steady dub-ish pace that will have disco-sophists shoulder shaking to space invaders. Who the fuck needs Berlin.
